Acceptance of Terms
By engaging the services of Multimodal Transport & Transit Co. Ltd. (“MMTT Movers”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), accessing our website, or submitting a shipment booking, you (“Client”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MMTT Movers. If you do not agree to these Terms, please refrain from using our services or website.

Our Services
MMTT Movers provides multimodal logistics and freight forwarding services from the Republic of Djibouti, including but not limited to:
- Air Freight — Domestic and international air cargo handling, from individual parcels to full charter flights
- Sea Freight — LCL consolidation and FCL services to global ports across Europe, Middle East, Far East, Africa, and the Americas
- Road & Rail Transport — Inland container movement from the Port of Djibouti to final destinations
- NVOCC Services — Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier services including bill of lading issuance and cargo consolidation
- Custom Clearance — Export and import customs clearance at Djibouti airports and seaports
All services are subject to availability, applicable laws, and the specific terms agreed in individual service contracts or quotations.
Client Obligations
As a client of MMTT Movers, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely information required for shipment processing, including correct cargo descriptions, weights, dimensions, and declared values
- Ensure all goods tendered for shipment comply with applicable laws and regulations of origin and destination countries
- Provide all necessary export and import documentation in a timely manner
- Not tender prohibited, restricted, or hazardous goods without prior written approval and proper documentation
- Pay all charges, duties, taxes, and fees associated with your shipment promptly as invoiced
- Notify us immediately of any changes to shipment details that may affect logistics arrangements
Rates & Payment
Quotations
All rates and quotations provided by MMTT Movers are valid for the period specified and subject to availability of space, applicable surcharges, and currency fluctuations. Quotations are not binding until confirmed in writing by MMTT Movers.
Payment Terms
- Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Late payments may attract interest at a rate of 2% per month on the outstanding balance
- MMTT Movers reserves the right to withhold release of cargo until all outstanding charges are settled
- All charges are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated; payment may be accepted in Djiboutian Francs (DJF) at the prevailing exchange rate
Additional Charges
The client is responsible for all additional charges arising from circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to demurrage, detention, storage fees, customs examinations, or changes in government-imposed levies.
Liability & Claims
Limitation of Liability
MMTT Movers’ liability for loss, damage, or delay to cargo shall be limited to the lesser of:
- The actual value of the goods as declared on the shipping documents
- The applicable limits under the Hague-Visby Rules, Montreal Convention, or CMR Convention, depending on the mode of transport
Exclusions
MMTT Movers shall not be liable for loss or damage arising from:
- Acts of God, force majeure, war, terrorism, or civil unrest
- Inherent defect, vice, or nature of the goods
- Insufficient or defective packing by the client
- Inaccurate or incomplete documentation provided by the client
- Delays caused by customs authorities or regulatory bodies
- Consequential, indirect, or special damages of any kind
Claims Procedure
All claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 7 days of delivery (or expected delivery date for non-delivery), failing which the claim shall be time-barred.
Cargo & Prohibited Goods
MMTT Movers will not knowingly accept the following goods for shipment:
- Narcotics, illegal drugs, or controlled substances
- Weapons, ammunition, or military equipment without proper government authorisation
- Counterfeit or pirated goods
- Goods that violate any applicable law or international convention
- Hazardous, dangerous, or radioactive materials without prior written agreement and full MSDS documentation
- Human remains or live animals without appropriate permits and specialist arrangements
The client shall indemnify MMTT Movers against all losses, costs, and penalties arising from the tendering of prohibited goods.
Insurance
MMTT Movers does not automatically insure cargo on behalf of the client unless expressly requested and confirmed in writing. We strongly recommend that clients arrange comprehensive cargo insurance for all shipments.
Where insurance is arranged through MMTT Movers at the client’s request, the coverage will be subject to the terms and conditions of the insurer and the declared value of the goods. MMTT Movers acts solely as an intermediary in arranging such insurance and shall not be liable for any insurer’s refusal to pay a claim.
Customs & Regulatory Compliance
When MMTT Movers acts as customs agent on your behalf:
- The client remains the importer or exporter of record and is legally responsible for the accuracy of all declarations
- MMTT Movers will process declarations based solely on information provided by the client and will not be liable for penalties arising from incorrect or incomplete client information
- The client authorises MMTT Movers to interact with customs and other regulatory authorities as their appointed agent
- Any duties, taxes, or fines assessed by customs authorities are the sole responsibility of the client
Intellectual Property
All content on the MMTT Movers website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the exclusive property of Multimodal Transport & Transit Co. Ltd. and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent.
Termination
Either party may terminate a service agreement by providing written notice as specified in the relevant service contract. MMTT Movers reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate services if:
- The client fails to pay outstanding invoices after reasonable notice
- The client provides false or misleading information
- The client tenders prohibited goods or violates these Terms
- Continued service would cause MMTT Movers to breach any applicable law or regulation
Upon termination, all outstanding charges become immediately due and payable.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Djibouti. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If negotiation fails, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the arbitration rules applicable in Djibouti. Failing resolution through arbitration, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Djibouti.
